    Crumbs from my jar....

Welcome to our 12 new subscribers, all past newsletters are available on the archive page on The Cookie Jar Net.

Unfortunately March will only have one newsletter and I will try and get back on schedule in April. I've had a particularly hard time the last few months with various flus, virus', colds and bronchitis. Nothing serious, but this has been another bad month and the newsletter is one thing that suffers.
Yes, I am ready for summer.

Meanwhile, one of our favorite dealers/friend/club members, Keith Lytle will be having surgery later this month and I am sure he would appreciate any get-well wishes you might want to send. If you need his email address, let me know.

    until next time,
    ~barbara

    New Bulletin Boards
We have wonderful new bulletin boards on The Cookie Jar Net. You all have absolutely no idea how frustrating it's been to deal with the obnoxious notes, spam and porno stuff that keeps popping up on the old bulletin boards. And its been incredibly difficult to find something that is user friendly, management friendly and keep those nasty posters away.

PLEASE go post a note, say hello, sell something or just chat. It takes about ten seconds to register -- probably one of the easiest registrations I've dealt with. SO if you want The Cookie Jar Net and Cookie Jar Community, in general, to thrive -- you can help by joining the community on the forums.

    RETRO
We've all known that Retro is hot, in fact it's been hot for years. Barbara Schwarz of Past and Presents wrote an article about four years ago on the new Retro jars out then. Well, Retro jars are even more prolific this year with Midwest, Brush Repros, Lefton all wanting a share of the market. So I decided to go back to Barbara and Mike for their opinions on these new-old jars. Mike's favorite are the Retro Brush jars!

    New Jars
Mike also gave me some of his Hot Picks for 2004. Mike's Hot Picks will be online later this week -- but why don't you go to their web site and picks your favorites first, it could be an interesting comparision.

    Auction and Show Dates
With so many things happening there is only one way to keep track -- write them all down in one spot. Debuting the new Show/Auction Calendar page!
The dates for the Cookie Jar Club -- ACJA -- is also on the calendar, along with links telling more about their Reunion in October.

    Siamese Cat & Fish Bowl
I just haven't had time to do a book search -- if you can help with the maker, value, whatever of this jar please post a reply to the Cookie Jar Chatter note on the forums. Cookie Jar Chatter Boards

    Midwest
This line is just too cool -- a cookie jar wall clock, night light, more ornaments -- the only problem for me will be finding a store that carries it all!

    Rag Dolls
Been busy re-doing my Rag Dolls and putting them on an index page, I still need to spend a few hours measuring jars, also adding a few jars I missed the first time around. And I do need some help with makes of several jars. If you can supply any additional info on any of the jars, it would be terrific.

    Collector's Marketplace
Pat G. and Jay B. both have lists of jars for sale. Cookie Jar Collector's Marketplace links can be found from the new Bulletin Boards, but here's a direct link. Pat has a 10% off Grand Opening Sale!

    Peter Pan Peanut Butter Jar
It doesn't take much to get me excited, but to get me really excited -- how about a new advertising jar? All I know is there will be one coming out, with information in the new Peter Pan DVD from Universal -- NOT Disney.

    Exclusive Sesame Street Jars

I thought it was pretty cool when someone from Mrs. Fields called to apologize that they couldn't't fill my cookie jar order for what they called the Mrs. Fields Chef jar. Well, once I got someone on the phone who could answer questions, they were probably sorry they did call. The jar advertised as the Mrs. Fields Chef jar was-in-fact the Mary Engelbreit Chef jar and not marked with Mrs. Fields in any manner whatsoever. So, if you were looking for an advertising jar, you didn't miss one. But if you were looking for a Mary Engelbreit Chef jar at a great price, you did miss that. The guy also wondered why there was such a rush on their jars, he said they had loads of them for a long time and all of a sudden the past few weeks, they completely sold out.

Since I had him on the phone I questioned about the Cookie Monster jar on the Mrs. Fields web site. It is a new jar and an exclusive for Mrs. Fields. Even better news was that Mrs. Fields will be offering more exclusive Sesame Street Character jars this year. And yes Eli, there will be a new Elmo.

    Score Big with Sports Jars
MLB, NFL, CHEF Jars --as mentioned above, Mike Schwarz (Past and Presents) shared his thoughts on a few new jars, and although I'll be doing a Hot Picks list later in the week -- these jars are definitely on his list. If you have a Sports Fan in the house, these jars will score big. And if my niece is reading this far -- don't even think about ordering a Mets jar! Maybe your aunt will be nice enough to get one for you!
This link is to a picture of the jar, more informaton can be found on the new jars link mentioned above.
