    Crumbs from my jar....

Welcome to our 10 new subscribers. All past newsletters are available on the archive page, see link on the left.

I've seen pictures of a new jar coming out the end of April. It's a really fun and licensed jar from a well-known company. AND the company has never done one before. Unfortunately I have been sworn to keep it a secret and if I tell -- all my jars will spontaneously break and develop hairlines. So guess I'll keep it secret for a little while longer. But just for fun -- email me the name of a company you think might be doing the jar and if you're the first right answer I'll send you a small prize! (But of course I won't announce the winner until I can announce the jar!) So what's your guess?

This newsletter depends on feedback from you to help continue, so if you enjoy getting it -- please help out by visiting the forums and help answer the questions posted. And by also giving me feedback when it's requested. Check the Feedback Needed section further down. And THANKS in advance!

    until next time, ~barbara

    Fenton Topaz Opalescent Jar
This jar is beautiful looking and the seller's pictures just really set it off. This is a good example of the way to take a picture to show off a jar!

    McCoy Willow Ware Jar
Another interesting auction this past month was the J. W. McCoy Willow Ware jar for $1225. And thanks to the seller, I've been able to post pictures and information for future reference.

    Feedback NEEDED!
What was your first cookie jar -- the one that made you decide or made you realize you were going to be a collector? And do you still have that jar? If you have a Brush Humpty Dumpty with Beanie, can you do me a favor and measure it? It can be approximate, e.g. I'm not worried about a 1/8" - 1/4" difference.

    Uncle Sam
Hobby Lobby is starting to put out their patriotic decoratives -- and this week all ceramics are 1/2 price, so off I went to pick up the new Uncle Sam. Full price is $25, but if you can find one this week, it's quite a bargain. They also have a few Easter jars -- but this time I resisted the temptation, or maybe it was that none really caught my eye.

    Teleflora
You might have seen an advertisement this past weekend for a Teleflora Peter Rabbit jar -- but unfortunately not all newspapers carried the ad. The egg shaped jar is 10" high and will go nicely with a similar jar they offered a year or two ago. Of course the jar is made to sell flowers, but most florists will sell it without flowers. But shop around. One florist wanted $15. sans flowers and another one wanted $25. for the same jar.

    Shows Coming Up
Don't forget to check the Shows/Auction pages for what's coming up. A Black Memorabilia Show and three different auctions are on the agenda for April.

    The Forums

    Cracker Barrel
Has an Easter Egg jar. This week it was $20. with 25% off. It reminded me a little of the Pooh coming out of the egg a few years ago.

Debbie Mumm Jar of the Month
These jars have been hard to find in the retail stores, in fact they've never shown up here at all. But some Dillard Department stores have carried them and now they're 50% off. Thanks to Nancy for finding the sale.

    Cookie Jar Index
Some new pages have been added, but having a few problems loading the page today -- so look for the new additions tomorrow. Have an unusual jar to share? Would love to hear about it!

    Overstock
Has the Pepsi and Mountain Dew jars for sale. The price is around $29. each, they can be found cheaper on eBay at times, but on Overstock you can buy it right away. Overstock
