    Crumbs from my jar....

Welcome to our 4 new subscribers. All past newsletters are available on the archive page, see link on the left.

Thanks to all who measured their Brush Humpty Dumpty jars. Three different folks emailed me, think they must have been tired of my nagging!

If you took part in the Shawnee Poll, be sure to read below, I had a little drawing from those who answered.

Keith Lytle is home from the hospital and his recent surgery and sounds like he is doing pretty good. But he still has a long road ahead to recovery and I am sure would appreciate hearing from his cookie jar friends. If you need his email, let me know.

Remember this newsletter depends on feedback from you to help continue, so if you enjoy getting it -- please help out by visiting the forums, sending me your feedback and cookie jar alerts.

    until next time,
    ~barbara
    McCoy Crossword Puzzle
I've dusted off a few of my older pages, done some updating and thought I would bring them back to your attention. The McCoy puzzle is a little hard, but solvable. And if you give up, go ahead and peek at the answer page.
    McCoy Puzzle

    eBay
The first run of the exclusive eBay cookie jar is all sold out! If you ordered a jar, it should be coming within a short time, I don't think anyone has received their jars yet. From the eBay web site: "Due to overwhelming demand, the cookie jar is temporarily unavailable. Please check back soon for availability."

    Metlox
For some reason Metlox has intrigued me lately and I was planning to take some pictures of my few Metlox jars this weekend. So I was delighted when I found the full body Metlox Lamb this morning at a local antique mall for $36. Of course I asked for a discount and got an additional 10% off! Btw, this mall is one of probably a dozen that are within two miles of October's Cookie Jar Reunion/Show.
    Metlox

A friend has the Metlox Mammy for sale on eBay this week, along with several other Metlox pieces. If you're into Metlox, check out all her auctions.

    House in the Woods
There will be a large auction at the House in the Woods auction house in June (Eagle, Wi). Over 1000 jars will be auctioned off. Saturday will be a regular style auction, with each lot sold individually. On Sunday it will be a first choice auction. Top bidder will get their choice of any or all jars (as far as I understand it).

Peter Pan Jar -- Not Disney
Ester C. found the offer for the Peter Pan jar in the new Peter Pan movie DVD or VHS. I saw the DVDs in Target and it had a note on the front about enclosed offers.

    Shawnee Poll
The results are in and it certainly wasn't a surprise, but I was surprised how the vote was such a runaway. Check the results, read the comments and vote in the next poll -- Metlox!

I did a random number drawing of all those that took part in the poll and the winner of a pewter Smiley Cookie jar pin is Ellen Supnick. Ellen, please email me your mailing address! Poll Page

    Disney
A new full figure Stitch jar is now on Disney Auctions. It's a limited edition of 500 and bidding starts at $60.

A sale Disney catalog (received early this week) had the new Cinderella Coach jar for about 25% off, but I noticed sale is not mentioned on the web site. So if you're interested in the jar, get ahold of a Disney catalog and call them direct.

    Hallmark
Cookies seem to be a recurring theme in the newest Hallmark ornament line. Numerous ornaments have cookies, so if you decorate with cookies and cookie jars, check out the new catalog carefully. The third in the Sweet Tooth Treats series (cookie jars) is a 4" angel ornament/jar. Hallmark is also offering a miniature cookie jar ornament that will only be available to Keepsake Ornament Club members only at the October debut. The July Premiere will have a Christmas Cookies ornament, it's a Magic Ornament stove with tray of cookies that slides out.
    Cookie Jar Reunion
What are you doing in October? Why not come to Oklahoma City to the Cookie Jar Club Reunion? If you're driving, OKC is very easy to get to. We're at the intersection of two major highways, extremely easy to get around once you're here and we have some of the friendliest people in the country. Lots of fun stuff to do, plenty of antique/collectible shopping in the area and, of course, cookie jars!

If you're interested in being a dealer, please email me for more information -- booth rates, sizes and more. Cookie Jar Club Reunion

    Reproduction Alerts
I started a new section on the forums, specifically for reproduction alerts, questions and links. I recently bought a jar that I was slightly suspicious of from reading the auction description, but since I never heard of it being reproduced, I took a chance. Yep -- it was obviously not the real thing. Have you been taken by a jar lately that you didn't realize was being copied? Post a note in the forums. Reproduction Alert Forum
