    Crumbs from my jar....

Welcome to our 19 new subscribers. All past newsletters are available on the archive page, see link on the left.

Did you notice I disappeared for the month of June? The month was extremely busy for me and something had to go, unfortunately it was the Cookie Jar Digest.

I've been doing the Digest for eight years now and not sure where it will go from here, there will be some changes in the future, but I haven't figured out just what they will be or even how I will accomplish them. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, I would love to get more feedback about new jars coming out, your impressions, how you got started in cookie jars, what you think of the new books, etc.

I've been pretty busy on the Collectibles site on About, lots of stories including the hot searches on TIAS and eBay. As well as several stories as I work through all my eBay Live notes. Yes I was there and it was a blast! If you haven't seen the new USPS Priority boxes, I have pictures of them -- new ones have an eBay logo on them!

And last, but certainly not least -- Happy Birthday Nancy Allen! Hope you get lots of birthday goodies!

    until next time,

    Jar Stories
The jars that started it all . . .the stories have been up for a while, but just in case you haven't come across them. Read how these collectors got caught with their hands around a cookie jar!

And although my daughter keeps saying it's not her fault -- the jar that really made me want to start collecting was the California Original Cookie Monster she gave me in 1979. Yes, I still have the jar -- and have the rest of the Sesame Street gang from California Originals.

Little Red Riding Hood Yes, McCoy NO!
Nothing makes my blood boil more than looking at another auction for a McCoy Little Red Riding Hood cookie jar. And even though I've covered it before, this is the start of another short series of articles on the subject. Little Red Riding Hood

    Disney Auctions
It was a surprise to see so many prototypes for sale at one time on the Disney Auction site last weekend. And really looking forward to the Chip and Dale jar, it's really cute. I was told that one regular production jar will be offered for sale this month. The rest of the new pieces will be offered in the fall. But, as we know, that can change at any time.

Upcoming limited edition jars scheduled for release October/November/December are: Canine Caddy Cookie Jar; Chip & Dale; Jiminy; Si & Am and Eeyore.

    Jay's Sale
Jay has a special sale on his jars for the next month or so. 20% off the sale price! The jars are wonderful and certainly not your run-of-the-mill pieces. Check them out before they're all gone. Remember 20% off!

    DISNEY STORE
A new Mickey Mouse jar has shown up at the store. It's a Mickey Mouse/Patriotic/Juke Box jar. Whew, talk about cross-collecting! I stay away from most of the Mickey jars, but since I do a lot of Patriotic stuff and have an assortment of Jukebox Cookie jars, it's one that's on my list.

Meanwhile, eleven of the thirteen jars on the site are on sale for $19.99.

    Auctions
Another portion of Charlie Snyder's Jar collection will be sold later this month at the Kent Mickelson auction house. The ACJA has planned a spot for like-minded collectors to get together on Friday night before the Saturday auction. This is nothing formal, just a place for like-minded folks to meet while eating dinner. The spot is the Golden Corral. The restaurant is about ten miles away from Freeman, but according to my source, most of attendees stay in Harrisonville or Kansas City, so this should be convenient for everyone. Plan on showing up at 6:30 - 7:00.

Hey, you even get to come to my house for a Get Acquainted Party on Friday night. Okay, so maybe that last part won't convince you to come . . but we will have fun.
