    Crumbs from my jar....

I thought I was slowing down a little in my cookie jar buying, but when I look at the stacks of boxes I realize I really haven't. Yes, I've become more selective and really try to stick with Advertising jars, but it's hard to resist a jar on eBay that is going for a great price. Or a limited edition Disney jar. Yeah, I know, the solution is to stay away from eBay. Actually I don't even get on eBay as often as I used too, there are just too many jars to sift through and too many reproductions to be wary of.

Speaking of reproductions -- I really need to update my lists of reproductions. This is where you come in if you can help. If you find a jar that is a reproduction and not advertised as such, please email me the link. And one day soon I'll update the reproduction list.

Many times the sellers have private auctions, as well as private feedback. I know I will never, ever buy a jar from someone who has private auctions or private feedback (except for DisneyAuctions). There is a reason they have it private, it might be a legitimate reason, but most likely not. Do you bid on those types of auctions? If so, I would like to know if your experiences have been good or bad.

And if you're a seller -- are you selling on other venues than eBay? Your own personal site, other auction sites, TIAS or Ruby Lane? I would love to "talk" with you about your experiences. Please email me where you sell, how long and what types of items. If you will include your phone number it will help if I have additional questions.

    until next time,
    ~barbara

    New Disney Prototypes Sold
Did you see the prototypes sold this past week on Disney Auctions? FINALLY a Mary Poppins Penguin jar! I know Nancy was pretty excited about it and can't wait for the actual jar to be sold. There was also a new Tinker Bell LE jar. Both pictures and information are up on the Collectibles web site.

And they're just adorable as ever. Stan Hoff has produced two different new jars that are great. Each jar comes in two different version. I have the first pictures up and Hoff has promised to send larger better images this week. They'll be put up when I receive them. Campbell's Kids Jars

    Cookie Jar IQ #7
I only had one correct answer for the last Cookie Jar IQ and Keith Lytle came through again. Back when I was doing them on a regular basis, he usually had the right answer. Guess we can definitely call him an expert! The jar shown was the RSO Bull. Keith wins a Sock Monkey Cookie Jar pin!

    FROM LAST ISSUE

    Schwan's
A wonderful new advertising jar will be available in the next month. Thanks to Sandi's alert, I was sure to open my Schwan's catalog when it arrived a few days later. The jar is a replica of their 1950 delivery truck. The guys at Schwan's say the samples are wonderful and very well made. It doesn't look like they can be ordered yet, but will be available in the next few weeks to order.
