    Crumbs from my jar....

Welcome to our 15 new subscribers this month. Please note that all newsletters, except for the first year are archived on The Cookie Jar Net web site.

I'm sorry this newsletter is about a week late, life has been getting in the way of lots of fun things lately. I promise to try and do better.

I'm sure you've all noticed that every one does top ten lists, from magazines to TV shows to web sites. If you've been hanging around me long enough, you'll remember that (a long time ago) I was doing a top cookie jar list where jars were voted off each month. Well a computer crash and poll problem swept that all away. This time I've decided to compile a lists of top tens from YOU. Take a few minutes and send me your top ten jars. This would be the all time top ten jars in your opinion.

I want two lists from you: the top ten pre-1980 and the top ten after 1980 time frame. If you can only come up with five jars, that's fine. If you can't come up with both lists, that's fine too.

Submit your answers via the web site at Top Ten Polls or email me at Barbcrews@gmail.com.

It might take you a few minutes to compile, but hey, this newsletter has taken me a while too......

    until next time,
    ~barbara

    Boyds Bears
The bears have arrived and they are adorable! A fellow Guide on About was able to get them for me, she volunteered first. We wound up paying $30. each plus shipping -- which was very cheap -- but I was certainly happy with that price. Much cheaper than flying to Gettysburg for vacation. I understand the store is worth a trip, so if you happen to be in that part of the country, it's probably worth a side trip for a visit.

    Fitz & Floyd Retro
Fitz and Floyd -- no one makes better holiday jars and this year they are going back to their roots by reissuing three popular jars. At least one of these will be added this year to my collection, especially since I've not been able to find an affordable original.

    Fiji No More!
It was sad to hear the news that the Fiji company has closed its doors. Their jars certainly had a sense of whimsy that I loved. Their cowboy snowman is sitting in my Route 66 bathroom right now and everytime I see him it makes me smile.

On other related news another company has changed hands. Sylvestri is now under new ownership.

    Free Cookie Jar Icons
I don't have an AOL account any more, but I love and use AOL Instant Messenger everyday to keep in touch with the family and friends. It's free, easy to use and most of all a way of keeping in daily contact with those far away. The other day I decided to make my own Buddy icon to use and thought I would share a few with you. Instructions are included!

    Little Red Riding Hood
It's a confusing genealogy -- trying to figure out the true and accurate history of the Louise Bauer Little Red Riding Hood jar. Is it a Hull, Regal or Royal China and Novelty Company? Although not all the answers are known, hopefully this article will be a start!

    Using QuakeHold
I'm not sure who originally told me about Quakehold, but I know I love it! Keep your jars from rattling on those shelves everytime someone slams the door!

    Ask eBay
I'm almost afraid to post this question here -- but if you have a question for eBay, post it in the forums. They are starting a new program and will answer a few select questions. (Read that again -- Select) so I wouldn't expect them to answer anything negative, but you're certainly free to ask. In fact if you post the notes in the forum, I will make sure a representative of eBay reads them all.

    Disney Auction Jars
Several of the new jars are currently up for auction on eBay. At least one of them is pretty popular, but don't fret if you miss out on it. Remember they have another 250 that will be auctioned off.

A few of these have shown up on eBay in the last few months. I want one! If you can help me out with a jar, information on how to get it, or when it was available, it would be greatly appreciated.
