Crumbs from my jar....

We have one new subscriber this week -- welcome! Past issues of newsletter are available on The Cookie Jar Net, just click on Newsletters in the left hand column.

It was disappointing at the flea market this past weekend, only saw one jar worth looking twice at -- a Shawnee Cooky with some strange looking decals, so at $400. I didn't look three times. Other than that, no jars this week, but I did wash and dust a few that have been neglected for a while. Amazing how much better they look clean!

I'm not aware of any auctions or sales coming up in the immediate future, although Bill Kasting will be having a one day sale on October 8th.

And I am still looking for pictures of the various "cookies jars" with nut finials from the various companies and any scans you might have of catalogs showing the jar.

Until next time,
~barb

TOP TEN MISTAKES BY NEW JAR COLLECTORS
If you've hung around me very long, most of the mistakes are ones I've harped on over and over, but just in case you need a little more "nagging" -- check out the list. Did I leave something out or perhaps included something you don't agree with? Let me know about it, as always, I welcome comments.

MARY POPPINS DISNEY JAR
Was the most popular Disney jar release in the past year. About 165 vied for 100 jars, but no fear -- the jar is up for auction again this year. Problem is -- only 25 are offered this go-round. Just remember there are still 225 jars to go! I've heard that jar is really terrific and LARGER than expected. I love to hear from someone who bought the Mrs. Potts or the 101 Dalmations, did you like the jar? Also curious as to how Mrs. Potts compares to the Treasure Craft Mrs. Potts from the nineties.

STAR WARS PLASTIC JARS
They're showing up on eBay, so hopefully they will be showing up at the front door soon. If you haven't ordered the Star Wars jars, a Kellogg's promotion, I suggest you think about it. The expiration date is at the end of the year or until supplies are depleted. The price is sure right -- $6.99 plus three upcs!

BILLY'S COOKIE JAR GUILT
Has now been assuaged -- Billy found the jar and gave it to his mom on Mother's Day. He's promised some pictures and more of the story, but until then you can read the beginning of the story.

NUMBER 9 ON MY ALL-TIME ADVERTISING LIST
Is now up and it's a really great one! And yes, he is also represented in cookie jars, although certainly not the reason I picked him.
