Welcome to all the new subscribers! Glad to have you on board and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me. I may not be able to answer them, but I will give it a try or help find someone who can.

The Dallas Gift Show was great -- I took hundreds of pictures, now to get them all online. Links to the new jars will be on The Cookie Jar Spot as I start getting them online. There were four jars that really stood out as must-haves. Each week, I'll spotlight one of the four, not necessarily in any order. This week's jar is the new concept from Vandor.

THE COOKIE JAR SPOT: Just in case you've not been to The Cookie Jar Spot on About.com, it's the place to check out. Past articles, resources, fun stuff, dealer listings and lots of polls. In fact, I'd appreciate it if you took the time to vote in the polls. The newest poll is -- How many Jars did you buy in 2002?

PORTLAND, HERE WE COME: The Show Committee is busy working to make the first Cookie Jar Club event a great one. There will be demonstrations, informational seminars, get-togethers with fellow collectors and, of course, lots of jars for sale! If you are interested in being a dealer at the PortlandWirf show, check out the ACJA web site for more information. There will be literally thousands and thousands of prospective customers at the show AND huge amounts of money are spent on advertising. (We will be featured).

The club has picked a hotel for our "headquarters" and reservations are already filling up. Make your reservation early, especially if you want to be with the group. More about the event --

VANDOR CHARACTER COLLECTIBLES: One of the most popular items at the recent Gift Market was the Vandor Lunch Time Sand & Peppers. Take a look at all the characters portrayed on these terrific lunch box shakers. collectibles.about.com/library/weekly/aa012402a.htm

BATMAN, SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN, ELVIS & MORE: Just when I thought these characters have been overdone, along comes Vandor with these cool looking cookie jars. The jars are made of metal and ceramic -- it's hard to describe how neat and different the jars are. And since a picture is worth a thousand words, take a look at the pictures. Make sure to click on the Elvis Presley link.

HOBBY LOBBY: There's a new St. Patrick Jar in their stores and the jars are on sale this upcoming week. Merla D. reports the jar is a Pot of Gold with a Leprechaun on top. Last year's Leprechaun jar was very popular, so make sure to visit the stores soon. AND if you don't have a Hobby Lobby nearby, contact a collector that can help.

HALLMARK has already posted pictures of the 2002 ornaments and they are debuting a Cookie Jar Series!! Sweet Tooth Treats, Set of 4 ornaments -- jar and three cookies. A different cookie jar will appear each year, each one accompanied by its own special miniature cookie ornaments. the link is much too long to display, so go to Hallmark's 2002 preview and click on the Series collection. Thanks to Heather for finding this treasure.

Last time I mentioned an inventory program I was reviewing. The program is great, except for one small thing -- it doesn't print reports! The company promises this feature will be added very soon, so until they do -- I'd rather not "review it".

Incurable Collector -- "My" cookie jar segment is on TV again this week. If you missed it, the show is repeated Saturday mornings on the A & E channel.

Cookie jars are not the only thing I collect, check out the Collectibles website to find out what's else is new in the Collecting World.
