I'm in the midst of Holiday decorating, what about you?
I've been working for days and haven't even started to take out all the Santa Jars, yeah -- that will be my Thanksgiving Centerpiece-- Santa Claus Jars!
Disney's new jars were mentioned in the last newsletter and if you order in the next few days, there is free shipping! Plus some of the jars are also on sale. They haven't shipped one of the jars to me yet and now it's on sale, think I better give them a call!
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving and Happy Chanukah!!
They don't show up very often, but there is one on eBay right now! Auction ends on Monday. This is the very RARE Shawnee Smiley Cookie Jar with gold trim and hair painted on the top of his head. The seller is a long time computer friend, who has collected Shawnee Pottery for many years.
If so you will need to visit a Target with lots of goodies in the Snowglobe theme, even two snowglobe styled cookie jars.
Target also has a Winter Scene series this year with a cute "little boy" skier. The face reminds me of the children from the Joan Walsh Anglund illustrations.
Radko now has a dinnerware line at Target. I am not very impressed with the pieces at all. Yes, they "need" to be inexpensive, but they also are not finished very well. I know they can do better than this!
Anyway, there is a Christmas tree jar and it's showing up on eBay as a "Radko Cookie Jar", which it is...... but most people don't realize it's a very inexpensive one and can be found for $20. at the store. (It's currently on sale for $17.)
For automobile enthusiasts -- a licensed Nascar jar made by Gibsons is available at Walmart for under $15. I haven't seen it, but Nancy describes it as a "box with car on top".
Big Lots -- a real cheapie type store, but sometimes you can find goodies there. Quite a few jars this holiday, I didn't buy any, but there were some interesting ones. One was a Santa in a race car (reminds me on an old English sports car) with googles. Price was under $10.
Last issue I mentioned one of my two favorite Holiday jars for this year. This is the second one and Carol Boshears was the only correct guess!
Crystal Winter by Fitz & Floyd, lives up to their reputation as the premier jar maker. This one is so huge, it needs a table all by itself! And it better be a sturdy one, the jar is also very heavy.
