Crumbs from my jar . .
Last issue I mentoned an Uncle Sam jar from Hobby Lobby found by Merla Davis -- I finally had a chance to see it, a great and large jar! Pictures will be posted this week, along with another interestingly shaped patriotic jar. Hobby Lobby has numerous jars for sale -- many are not seen elsewhere. And the best thing is every few weeks they have a 50% sale on all ceramics. There is a sale this week too!
In the last hour a large tornado just went through the south part of the City - hitting the same areas that were devastated a few years ago with that huge F5. There were also terrible storms earlier this week just east of us, I checked with the Hustons - they're fine, but Red has been busy helping a friend clean up after major damage a few miles north of him. For the rest of you in the mid-west, hoping you were spared of damages and storms.
I love living in Oklahoma - except in Springtime!

David's Cookies & Purse Jars
Three different purse jars are shown on the HSN web site, complete with cookies! These look "new" to me, but not 100% sure.
eBay/Live Auction
Although I've watched a few live auctions online, this weekend I decided to take part and do a little bidding also. I did wind up with one jar, but I also learned a little bit. For one I will most likely not put in an absentee bid without checking further. It appeared that absentee bids were started at their high bid. e.g. Jar was starting at $50. only one bid, it was absentee and the jar sold for over $200. PLUS a buyers premium of over 17% -- Yikes!
Not the Real McCoy
This has been up awhile, but it doesn't hurt to bring it up to the top again. This is a list of jars I've found on the Internet that are represented as McCoy but are NOT!
I found a few new ones today that need to be added -- e.g. a Flo-Blue (??) McCoy jar. If you have any to add, give me a shout.
On TV --- Again
I'm sure most of you are as sick of the show as I am, but just in case you haven't seen it -- or are a glutton for punishment. The Incurable Collector episode of my jars will be on May 17th.
New Shawnee Newsletter
Thanks to Joyce D. for the heads up on a new Shawnee email newsletter.
Keebler Jars
I talked with one of the people involved with the production of the wonderful Keebler Millenium and Cracker Barrel jars a few years ago. You might remember that two other jars were mentioned, but they were not produced. Apparently when Kelloggs bought Keebler virtually everything was put on hold. Well, it looks like they will be firing up production on these two jars as soon as they can find the right factory to work with. Brian did mention that they will most likely be sold through QVC this time around, instead of HSN.
eBay Musings...
Thanks to Beverly Sutton for alerting me to an interesting auction on eBay. Seller is "Stop Faye" (alluding to a seller known for many fakes McCoys) Not sure if it will help or not, people still seem to bid would carefully checking the item or the fact that all feedback is private!
The funniest thing is one of the links on the auction is to the eBay bulletin board where a large portion of one of my articles from 2/02 has been copied and repeated several times. Without any indication that it came from another source --- isn't that sort of a reproduction too? So, if you happen to be the person that wrote the bulletin board notes, coping my article - be aware that all articles are have a copyright and should not be copied without permission. It's just as illegal as making a fake jar.
