    Crumbs from my jar....
I had great response from the last newsletter, looks like this program is a winner ... so far. It also spurred me on to re-do my personal website, The Cookie Jar Net. It still needs a bit of tweeking, but it's ready to go. Take a look at the new look!

Patriotic jars -- do you decorate for the holidays? Take some pictures of your Patriotic displays and I'll put it up to share with other collectors.

Further down you'll see reference to the Fakes & Fraud Index. If you have any "sets" of jars, the real one and a reproduction, please email me. It would be a big help to other collectors to see the jars next to each other.

Have a safe and happy holiday next week when you celebrate either (or both!) Canada Day or July 4th.

NOTE: If you have trouble viewing images or links, go to the online version of this newsletter at:

Do you belong? Or have you renewed? I must admit we've been a little quiet since the show last year, but we have some folks that have stepped up to help out. We have a new email newsletter editor for the club, the dealer page will be updated by this weekend (dealers who have not renewed will be removed) and we're working on more features that will be available for club members only. It's only ten bucks, so why not?

Dealers-- this is the only spot I know of that lists dealers names and websites!

    Fakes & Frauds Index
A new index with numerous links to Fakes & Frauds on the Internet is now up. And hopefully this will help new collectors as well as collectors that need a little more information. It's amazing to me the prices that some of the jars marked McCoy (not made by) are being sold for on eBay. And even more amazing to me is bidding on an auction with private feedback and private bidders. Anyone who has Private feedback has something to hide. There is no other reason to do it.

I've also noticed that a few of these same sellers have many more bidders than even the "real" jars -- why? Well, if you don't know who is bidding and can't keep track of it, it leads to shilling. Think about it.

Many of the sellers, I hate to call them dealers, have been very artful in their wording so that you cannot accuse them of fraud. I know I am preaching to the choir, but please be careful when bidding, read the auction description very carefully and then read it again, before you hit submit.

    Jensen-McCoy
Chiquita Prestwood, well-known McCoy collector has written an article about the Jensen-McCoy pottery that is showing up online. This is a must read, especially for collectors who remember some of the happenings from years ago. >>> www.quita.net

    Disney Prototype Jar Auctions
Yes, you read that right. Disney Auctions is selling three prototypes this week. One for a Dopey/Grumpy jar that will be available in mid July and two prototypes of the Cheshire cat that was mentioned recently. The Cheshire Cat sample is done in a pearlized version.

    McCoy Carousel
Reminder: Bids are being taken until July 1st.

    Vandor's Lone Ranger
I don't know when a new jar has excited me as much as this one. The Lone Ranger was my cowboy hero. Some of my best childhood memories are getting hot dogs from the stand by the park, taking them home to eat while watching the Lone Ranger on Saturday TV. (You probably have to be from NYC to appreciate the hot dogs by the park).

The jar looks incredibly detailed, is a limited edition and suggested retail is $75! Sometimes collecting just doesn't get any better than this.

    Brush Survey
One more issue for the Brush jar survey. Please fill it out if you haven't had a chance to do it yet. McCoy results are on the survey page.

    Watt Commemorative Policeman Jar
You can start ordering the Watt Commemorative Policeman Jar. Email jackie43777@aol.com or call The Ohio Ceramic Center (800-752-2604) with your name, email and how many you want. They will then contact you when the jar is available, around July 12, and give you the payment methods. At this time they do not take credit cards or paypal (I did suggest that would be a lot easier on them!)
Reminder: The price is $35. and can be seen at an auction that recently closed.
