    Crumbs from my jar....
Welcome to our 6 New Subscribers this issue!

The last few weeks there are notes from folks are looking for an Ostrich jar, Brush Hippo, Ninja Turtles, etc. Some of the jars for sale include Happy Memories Marilyn Monroe, Brush Formal Pig. Take a look at the Cookie Jar Wanted Board. Then pop over to the For Sale Boards and see what's being offered. Yes, it's evident some people are confused and post on both boards, as well as ask questions on both boards. Until it gets really bad, I'm leaving it as is.

I also had someone contact me, who is trying help a person in dire financial straits and must sell some jars: Happy Bunny, Napco Little Bo Peep, Northern Dutch Boy and a Hall Milk Glass Owl. If you're interested, let me know and I'll pass the email address on.

There is also a person looking for Elmo cookie jars and apparently really needs help. Me!! I gave away one I bought from Australia several years ago and now I have a little grandson that LOVES Elmo. I've got the plastic one, but that's it. There are three others that I know of, if you have one for sale, please let me know.

Disney Auctions is currently offering another Cheshire Cat prototype and a Cheshire Cat sample for sale on their eBay auctions.

    Harry & David Halloween
For the past few years Harry & David have offered a cat at Halloween. I've really enjoyed the last few jars, the only problem I have is with the high shipping costs. But if you can find someone who lives near an outlet, the jar can usually be purchased for less without the goodies inside the jar.

    Brush Survey
The results were interesting on the Brush jars. The two clear winners were the Cow with cat finial and the Ice Cream Cone elephant. Now, it's American Bisque I want to know about.

    I hate Pop-Ups too!
Unfortunately it's the choice of advertising on the Internet at this time and About uses them liberally. That's the price to be paid for the About resources, which are numerous. Not just the Collectibles portion, there are literally hundreds of thousands of page on About covering topics from Arts & Entertainment to Travel. Our most popular sites are the health ones, including Pregnancy, Thyroid, Diabetes, etc.

But I am digressing, I've been trying out an excellent way to stop Pop-ups. The new Google toolbar that is still a beta version, but terrific! It's extremely easy to add to your computer and works great. Only one drawback, it only works with IE.

    Shawnee Patents
New printables! This time it's the actual patents from Shawnee Pottery Cookie Jars. Included are: Smiley, Winnie, Muggsy, Puss n'Boots and the Sailor. Print on a "good" paper and frame for cookie jar art. Takes up a lot less room than the actual jars!

    Dummies Jar
A really fun looking jar that I think would be perfect on a computer desk-- just keep the crumbs off the keyboard.

    eBay for Beginners
And a refresher for the rest of us. I receive so many questions about eBay, buying, etc. that I finally got with it and put together a lengthy primer on eBay Buying. As large as eBay is, this will necessarily be continually updated. And even if you think you know it all, you might be surprised, I found a few new facts that I didn't know while doing research for the article.

    Advertising Jars
The other day I spent a little time surfing and checked out a few sites that haven't been mentioned lately. Heinz still is offering that terrific Ketchup Bottle jar for sale, as well as the beanpot jar. Then I popped over to the Pillsbury Shop still has four or five jars for sale and also has a metal cannister set that could sort of qualify.

    American Cookie Jar Association
Do you belong? Or have you renewed? I must admit we've been a little quiet since the show last year, but we have some folks that have stepped up to help out. We have a new email newsletter editor for the club. The dealer page has been updated and we're working on more features that will be available for club members only. It's only ten bucks, so why not?

Dealers-- this is the only spot I know of that lists dealers names and web sites!
