My Internet week has not gotten any better. I am still having major
problems, e.g. I cannot stay online longer than ten to twenty minutes
without getting disconnected. And if it happens during a file transfer --
it's not a pretty sight. Anyway -- just wanted to let you know in case I
haven't gotten back to you.
Many of you have been great about sending in your favorite jar lists --
but there are still a lot out there that I know have opinions, so still
waiting to hear from you. You know who you are!

I'm also working on a Top Ten list of mistakes made by NEWBIES on eBay and
would love input. Of course I'm not saying everyone makes mistakes . . .
. If you have any input or advice for new folks using online auctions --
send it along.

STAR WARS
I'm getting a little tired of all the Star Wars hype, but I am never tired
of new licensed jars!
The new jars from Cards, Inc -- a U.K. company are great looking. I just
might have to break down and get one or two. The only problem will be the
cost -- I imagine the international shipping will bring the price up quite
a bit. But the initial jar price is not too bad -- only 29.99 UK, about
$54. US.

And while you are at it, check out the rest of the cookie jars from The
Collector Zone -- there are some really fantastic ones coming out. Lord of
the Rings and Dr. Who. One of my favorites is the Doctor Who K-9 jar.

MORE STAR WARS
Two of the Kellogg's Star Wars jars have arrived in the last few days. I
am still waiting for Darth Vader. The jars are plastic and a little cheap
looking -- but definitely worth the price and effort.

HARRY AND DAVID ICE CREAM TRUCK
This jar is looks pretty familiar -- looks like the same mold as the
Schwan's Truck jar. And the price is about the same, so who knows. I was
under the impression that the Schwan's jar was custom design for them, but
it doesn't look like it.

DODGE NEBRASKA AUCTION
400 jars will be auctioned off on Sunday, June 12th in Dodge, Nebraska.
The collection is owned by Bill and Pat Wisnieski and contains lots of
nice jars, quite a few that I wouldn't minding having myself. I do not
know if they will offer absentee bidding, I will as not able to reach
anyone before sending this out.
I talked with one of the folks at the Wisnieski Auction Service today. The
jars are just starting to get unpacked, so if you are interested in
finding out more about a particular jar, wait just a few days to give them
a call. The best time to call is early evening, from 5 PM on. There is NO
buyers premium and they will take absentee bids.

MARY POPPINS JAR
The current batch of Disney Mary Poppins jars is up for auction right now,
ending tomorrow. This group is 50 jars, which would make it 175 -- half
the jars in the edition.

NUMBER SEVEN ON MY TOP ADVERTISING ICON LIST
Is a smiling guy that kids recognize world-wide. And of course he is a
cookie jar too! It's interesting,
even though many, if not all, of my top ten advertising icons are depicted
by a cookie jar. Most of these would NOT be on my list of TOP TEN
Advertising JARS. That list will be coming soon!

HUMANE SOCIETY FUND RAISER
George and Katie of TheCookieJarStore have designed a cookie jar as a fund
raiser for the Humane Society of the Nature Coast - "We designed the
cookie jar as a fund raiser for our local Humane Society (Humane Society
of the Nature Coast, Hernando County Florida). This is a limited edition
cookie jar - only 1000 were made and numbered. Jar measures approx. 8 X 9
1/2 X 7. This cookie jar will not be reproduced. It was professionally
made in China."
