The Cookie Jar Digest

Volume XV #4
Fall 2011

Crumbs from my jar . . .

I haven't put out all our Halloween jars this year, but do have a few favorites on the mantel, including the Abingdon pumpkin, McCoy Coalby cat and Fitz and Floyd Witch. No Abingdon witch jar yet -- one of my four holy grails.

But I do have a Halloween jar for you. Like The Cookie Jar Net on Facebook page on Facebook. On October 1, I'll have someone else pick a lucky reader to get a Halloween jar from my collection. And if you don't want to be that lucky, you can alway decline and another reader will be picked.

Happy collecting,
~barb

AUCTION REPORT
The Henleys went to a farm auction last week that had several jars and reported back: "The McCoy green Turkey Cookie Jar was sold for 240. The other jars such as the coffee grinder, the strawberry, the pepper, brought $25 to $40. Basket went for $40, a really good Dutch Girl only brought 20.00. The planters anywhere from 2.00 to 70.00 (hunting dog). So a good auction for the buyers!">

HALLOWEEN AND FALL JARS
Crows and Frankenstein from Cracker Barrel, Ghosts and Pumpkins from Cheryls and a Haunted House from Mre. Fields are all on the Halloween Jar round-up. Looking for a new jar for the fall holidays, here are few to get started. If you find anymore, please share with us!

DENISE TEETER'S NEW JARS
Denise has been busy producing several new cookie jars that are absolutely adorable and amazingly affordable. You might remember the Sandy Friendship jar debuting last year, she is also available in a black jar now. Kewpie collectors have been clamoring for a winged jar, she's done it!

Best of all, the jars can be completely customized -- colors, skin color, wings or not.

REMINDER: FACEBOOK LINKS
I know a lot of you are on Facebook and in fact follow me. Which is probably boring most of the time! I am jumping on the bandwagon along with others and have created two pages for Cookie Jar Collectors. One will be for news, links, happenings, etc. You can also post jars you might have for sale here, as long as it is not overdone. It's all a test right now to see how it works out. All you have to do is "like" me and it will show up automatically on your Facebook Feed.
The Cookie Jar Net on Facebook

The second Facebook page is for matching jar lids and bases. You can post your wants, needs and any other jars you might be looking for. There are already two listings on the board for lids or jars. No sales on this page! Cookie Jar MatchMaker on Facebook
