Hot Texas Nuts
For Spicy Food Lovers!

20 dried red chile peppers
   (1" long)
4 garlic cloves chopped
2 TBLs olive oil
2 - 3 lbs Spanish Peanuts
1 tsp coarse salt
1 - 3 tsp chili powder

 

  • Heat chili peppers, garlic and oil in a large heavy pan for one or two minutes.
        Stir constantly so peppers do not scorch!
  • Add peanuts and stir well.
  • Cook over medium heat for about five minutes until peanuts brown- stirring constantly!
  • Remove from heat
  • Sprinkle with salt and chili powder.
  • Store in covered container for at least 48 hours before serving.

    Remove chili peppers before serving, but keep the peppers in the storage container.
