A recipe from the vaults ... old and authentic!

Swedish Meatballs

|
3/4 lb ground beef*
3/4 lb ground pork*
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste
1 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
|
1/2 cup milk
sprinkle of nutmeg
2 TB chopped onions
flour
1 can beef broth or consomme
|
*If veal is available, use 1/2 lb each of beef, veal and pork.
Combine all ingedients except onions, flour and beef broth.
Make into small meatballs and brown
Remove from pan, add onions and brown in the drippings.
Add beef broth and meatballs back into pan.
Bring to a boil, add a little bit of flour/water to thicken gravy and
simmer until gravy is thick.
